School board approves purchase of school display sign

A digital display sign will replace the existing school sign on the east edge of the school parking lot. The sign will be full color and large enough to run three lines of letters. The sign will be purchased using money from the "premium holiday" that Blue Cross Blue Shield is implementing in December. The holiday means that Bancroft-Rosalie School will not have to pay health insurance premiums in December, a savings of over $25,000. Use of the holiday money must be agreed to by both the school board and the Bancroft-Rosalie Education Association (the local teachers union). If the teachers agree to this proposal, the sign will be in place before Thanksgiving.

The sign will be run by computer. Eventually community events in Bancroft and Rosalie could be displayed on the sign.

Here is a computer projection of how the sign will appear. The actual display will be larger- displaying three lines rather than the two lines shown.
