NSAA Cup Class D Results

Bancroft-Rosalie Boys placed 4th in the NSAA Cup competition for 2018-19. Bancroft-Rosalie School placed 10th in the combined Boys-Girls competition.
Bancroft-Rosalie scored points in Football, Boys Basketball, Music, and Speech.

Northeast Nebraska Vipers win Freeman Softball Invitational

Congratulations Northeast Nebraska Vipers Softball (Bancroft-Rosalie, Lyons-Decatur, Pender and Wisner-Pilger Schools) on winning the Freeman Invitational Tournament on Saturday. The Head Coach is Suzanne Ras, with Assistant coaches Duane Mendlik and Clay Haymart.

Bancroft-Rosalie School Board news

The Bancroft-Rosalie Board of Education met Monday, August 12, 2019 at 7:30 pm 
in Bancroft.
Superintendent Cerny’s report included:
      1. July transportation report- School Bus Rebate Grant of 50% on the
          purchase of a new bus
      2. Transfer to Activity Fund to remove negative balances
      3. NASB Area Meetings- Norfolk Wednesday September 25.
          Mike Nottlemann and Trevor
          Bonneau will receive awards.
      4. Review part-time and substitute staff including bus drivers, van drivers,
          Substitute teachers, substitute paraprofessionals
      5. State Retirement Audit- Bancroft-Rosalie audit was one of seven in
           Nebraska that had zero errors.
      6. Federal Monitoring Review- Bancroft-Rosalie federal program review had
          no corrective Actions.
      7. Summer Food Program 2020. Food Service Director Shauna Bassett is
          looking into the program. Concern is serving both Bancroft and Rosalie
          students.
      8. Memorandum of Understanding with Oakland PD for use of Canine
         Search Services. Schools in Cuming County will be provided this service
         through Cuming County diversion. The drug dog will be available for school
         walk-throughs.
      9. Enrollment Numbers- Staffing. There are now 27 students in Kindergarten.
          An  additional para will be assigned to Kindergarten.
      10. Library Report- Book check-outs for 2018-19 and, newspapers and
           magazines available for students

Principal Sjuts report included:
      1. Handbook changes
      2. Summary of 7-12 Parent meeting
     3. Schedule for the first week of school
     4. School evacuation and relocation drill on September 25
     5. Assistant girls golf coach requested by Pender athletic director. The Coach
         could also work with junior high girls.

In new business the board:
      A. Reviewed the budget for 2019-20, with no projected increase in
          property taxes
      B. Set Activity admission rate the same- Adults $5 and Students $4.
      C. Approved elementary, secondary, activity, and staff handbooks for
          2019-2020
      D. Offered a teaching contract to Caleb Nihira for 5-12 Music
      E. Approved the purchase of a 2019 International 71 passenger bus for
         $88,000 from Cornhusker International and accepted the 50% rebate
         for the purchase from the Nebraska Department of Energy
