Health and Human Services released new Directed Health Measures that changes quarantine for school ages students effective today.
The quarantine change for school-aged individuals essentially states that school-aged individuals who are close contacts to a positive covid-19 case do not have to quarantine. In lieu of quarantine those who are school-aged close contacts can instead: Mask and self-monitor for 14 days after the exposure and practice social distancing. This change does NOT affect school-aged individuals who are positive cases. Those who are positive cases (regardless of age) still self-isolate as usual for the 10 days following symptom onset.
