Action taken
1. Approved the Emergency Declaration Resolution regarding Covid-19 Global Pandemic and Epidemic Sickness. This allows the School District to apply to FEMA for disaster relief funding.
2. Accepted the recommendations of the Elkhorn-Logan Valley Health Department and the Nebraska Commissioner of Education that Bancroft-Rosalie Community School not reconvene for the 2019-20 school year and that instruction continue with distance learning.
The school will not have prom or Senior Sneak Trip. A Graduation will take place on the currently scheduled date. The ceremony will conform to the rules for large public gatherings in effect on that date.
3. Approved the resolution generally authorizing superintendent action in light of school closure (or possible school closure). Grants Dr. Cerny the authority to make emergency decisions regarding the School District.
4. Authorized the superintendent to offer return to work agreements with classified staff. The agreement states that classified staff will be paid for all their hours based on their typical daily schedule (no overtime), that they agree to be on call to come in to work, and that they will agree to return to work for up to six months after the agreement is signed.
5. Authorized the superintendent and/or Board President to offer return to work agreements with certificated non-teaching staff. Same agreement for anyone that has a teaching certificate, but does not have teaching duties.
6. Offered the 7-12 Principal to Kyle Elsasser.
