Electricity and Robotics courses to be offered this year

Two new one semester classes will be offered to B-R students this school year. Both courses will be taught by Mr. Hilsinger. These courses will replace the Principles of Technology class and will count as science credit for meeting the science graduation requirement (3 years/30 credit hours of science).

With Renz Electric as one of the largest employers in the community, an electricity class is a good addition to our curriculum.

Course descriptions-

ELECTRICITY- Offered first semester
Electricity provide a survey of the theory, terminology, equipment, and practical experience in the skills needed for careers in the electrical field. These courses typically include AC and DC circuitry, safety, and the National Electrical Code and may cover such skills as those involved in building circuits; wiring residential, commercial, and/or industrial buildings; installing lighting, power circuits, and cables; and estimating job costs.

ROBOTICS 1- Offered second semester
Robotics 1 is designed to explore the current and future use of automation technology in industry and everyday use. Students will receive a comprehensive overview of robotic systems and the subsystems that comprise them while engaging with a robotics platform. This course is designed for students who have an interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) robotics applications.
