Veterans Day Program Friday November 8 with pictures
The Bancroft-Rosalie School Veterans Day program will be held Friday November 8. Veterans Day is Monday November 11 and Mr. Sundleaf will be taking the chorus students to Honor Choir in Humphrey that day with a concert scheduled for Monday night.

Introduction to Education classes
Bancroft-Rosalie School three years of Education classes to high school students.
Year 1 course- Exploring Education and Training.
Students will complete classwork that will lead to certification as a classroom paraprofessional for general education and Title I classrooms. Coursework will be eleven Units of the Paraeducator Self Study Program. The Self Study Program is a web-based method for school districts to provide introductory training for their paraeducators. It contains several units pertaining to paraeducators' roles and responsibilities, and core knowledge and skills in reinforcing instruction. It is intended to be supplemental to the training provided by school districts, and assists schools in meeting the paraeducator training requirements of No Child Left Behind, the Nebraska Department of Education Rule 11, and the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.
Students will also be assigned to an elementary classroom where they work as a paraprofessional.
Year 2 course- Experiencing Teaching
Students will complete the remaining six units of the Paraeducator Self Study Program which will certify them to work in special education classrooms. Students will be assigned to an elementary classroom where they will work as a paraprofessional.
Year 3 course- Early Childhood Education I and II
Students will work two periods in a lower elementary classroom as the classroom paraprofessional monitoring students doing independent work and assisting students one on one.
Students that become certified paraprofessionals will be eligible for summer employment at Bancroft-Rosalie Community School working as a paraprofessional during summer school for three weeks in Late July and early August.

Fill out and return your Bancroft Income Survey
Bancroft Village residents will soon be receiving an Income Survey in the mail. The survey is necessary to determine if Bancroft is eligible to receive federal funds for community projects. The focus project right now is improving housing in Bancroft.
The requirement is that 100% of households in Bancroft have to complete and return the survey. That is why it is important that all residents get this done. The survey information is confidential- it is the overall summary of the Bancroft community that the surveyors are interested in.
Income surveys are used to determine the number of low income households in a community. The more low income households- the more federal and state programs Bancroft will be eligible to participate in. So we especially need those families marking "Below" to return their surveys.
An income survey was done in Bancroft three years ago and there was not enough returned. This time help the Village meet the goal of 100% returned.

Junior and Seniors attend Save A Life Tour
The Save A Life Tour was brought to the Nielsen Center in West Point by Cuming County Juvenile Diversion. Bancroft-Rosalie juniors and seniors had the opportunity to experience from a sober perspective the effects of
alcohol on motor skills and reaction time. A multi-million dollar DUI simulator helped students get a realistic look
at the impaired judgment and delayed reaction time that alcohol causes. The simulator reacts to each student's size and weight differently and maneuvers like a
drunk driver over 80 miles of roadways, including changing weather
conditions.
The assembly program included graphic, realistic videos of actual DUI accidents and emergency room scenes. A B-R senior commented that the program "made her very sad". Another senior said after viewing the program she will "never drink and drive."
