The Bancroft-Rosalie Board of Education met Monday, July
8, 2019 at 7:30 pm in Bancroft. Superintendent Cerny presented the June
transportation report, ACT Spring Results, MAP Test Spring Results, the College
Early Entry Financial Report, changes resulting from LB 103 and LB 399, and the
Monsanto Grant donated by LeRoy Bray. Handbook changes for 2019-20 were presented.
Annual hearings were held to discuss the Student Fee
Policy, the Parent Involvement Policy, the Bullying policy, and the Attendance
Policy.
In old business, the board gave final approval to Board Policy
0350.2- Evaluation of Probationary Certificated Personnel.
In new business, the board reviewed the school census
and named First
Bank of Bancroft as the official bank for the general fund and First Community
Bank for all other funds, named the Wisner News-Chronicle as the official
newspaper, selected KSB School Law as legal council, and set hot lunch prices
and class enrollment limits.
In
other new business, the board gave first approval to new policies 0144 Standing Committee on
American Civics, 0366 Wage Information, 0411.7 Military Families, 0438 Extracurricular
Activities, 0439 School Dances, and 0449.1 Military
Recruiters.
The Board also gave first approval of amended board policies 0446 Student Discipline Policy, 0460 Drug and
Substance Use and Prevention, 0527.1 Curriculum- Assessments, 0612 Tobacco
Policy, 0742.4 Procurement Plan- School Food Authorities. Changes in 0446, 0460
and 0612 were made to include nicotine injection devices under the list of banned
substances.
The budget and future participation in Pathways To Tomorrow was
discussed.
