The Future Ready Council completed Future Ready Nebraska PK – 12 Digital Learning and Ed Tech Plan. The Council met four times during the school year. I served on the Use of Space and Time Committee which developed goals action steps for our area. At the May meeting, our committee merged with another committee to form the Training and Resource(s) Development Group. This group prioritized action steps for 2018:
- Develop a partnership with college and university teacher education programs to train and inform teacher education faculty about Future Ready Resources to include the Nebraska Future Ready framework.
- Create awareness and encourage the use of a variety of rich digital and distance learning opportunities. (i.e. online field trips, NVIS, online resources, career and technical programs, dual credit).
- Nebraska Digital Learning and Ed Tech Plan
Help teachers and administrators to build Personal Learning Networks that include social media tools and collaborations that extend outside their buildings.
- Research and provide effective implementation models of online and blended courses for digital learning.
- Assist schools in developing school library programs that will provide students an opportunity to develop digital literacy skills.
