Students visit Penro Construction for job exploration

Penro Construction held a youth job exploration as part of their open house. Eight Bancroft-Rosalie students and 16 Pender students attended.
Ryan Kinning, Vice President of Penro Construction, held a short question and answer session and a safety discussion, then the students divided up into groups and went through 3 hands on learning stations that were set up.  The first station was to run an excavator and try to pick up a basketball off of a cone and dump the ball into a wastebasket.  The second station was running a front end loader with forks on it instead of a bucket.  The students picked up a pipe, drove around the Penro building, and set the pipe back down on a sawhorse.  The third station was to pour a small pad of concrete. The students received help from members of the Nebraska Concrete and Aggregate Association.
The students really enjoyed the afternoon and talked all at the way back to school.
Students attending were Ben Bassett, Couy French, Bradley Marr, Jaxon Johnson, Kobe Lyons, Weston Pagels, Parker Paulson, and Darwin Snyder. Everyone agreed that Dr. Cerny won the excavator contest, Right Guys?
