Bancroft-Rosalie School Board news

The Bancroft-Rosalie Board of Education met Monday, June 11, 2012 at 7:30 pm in Bancroft. Superintendent Cerny gave the May transportation report. Principal Sjuts presented honor roll and the 2011-12 discipline report. In old business, the board discussed the school building project. In new business, the board reviewed the Food Service Program, a preliminary General Fund budget for 2012-13, and the budget for summer training and workshops. The board approved Morrow, Davies and Toelle as school auditor and gave final approval to a teacher sick leave bank application. The following major purchases were approved: MacBook computers for elementary teachers, IPads for 8th grade students and paraprofessionals, Smartboards for four elementary classrooms, 4 sets of cabinets for the new addition and renovated classrooms, and light fixture replacement for the new and old gyms. Toni Hennig was named head volleyball coach, Mindy Nottlemann as assistant volleyball, and Victor Sundleaf as instrumental and vocal music. The board accepted the resignations of paraprofessionals Michelle Merritt and Lynn Knuppel and approved the hiring of Danny Bridges and Jessica Brichachek as paraprofessionals. The board also approved the list of bus drivers, van drivers, substitute teachers and substitute paras for 2012-13. The board accepted the resignation of Marlon Hennig from the school board effective August 13, 2012. Anyone in the district interested in serving the remaining two years of his term are asked to contact Kent Neumann at 712-223-2232 by June 22 to add their name for consideration.
