East Husker Conference considering moving Basketball Tournament to Midland

The East Husker Conference Executive Committee and Athletic Directors met May 7 in Fremont with representatives of Midland University to hear a proposal to hold the Conference Basketball Tournament Semi-finals (Thursday and Friday) and Finals (Saturday) at Midland University.

The Executive Committee voted to draft an agreement with Midland for consideration at the next Executive Committee meeting in June. The vote to have all three nights in the agreement passed by an 8-7 vote.

The Executive Committee hired Dallas Sweet, athletic director at Oakland-Craig, to serve as Conference Secretary. Dallas replaces Chuck Ross of Wisner-Pilger.

The Committee also is considering a proposal to no longer accept East Husker Conference passes at Conference Tournaments. Thus will also be approved at the June meeting.

The proposal to change how students qualify for Conference Honor Band was unanimously approved.
