The Centenary Celebration in Lincoln had over 50 people in attendance. Ron Hull, Master of Ceremonies, shared some of his favorite memories. State Senator Ben Hansen read the legislative proclamation and a statement from Governor Ricketts. Coralie Hughes and Robin Neihardt, grandchildren of Neihardt, presented a program reminding us who Neihardt was at 40 when he received the designation of State Poet Laureate. Trevor Jones of History Nebraska described the importance of Neihardts' work, Matt Mason, current Nebraska State Poet, explained the importance of poetry, and Mimi Yu, Nebraska Youth Poet, read two of her poems.
Ron HullBancroft-Rosalie School is adding Project Lead The Way to our middle school curriculum this upcoming school year.
