Neihardt Poet Laureate Centenary Celebration at the state capitol- June 18
The Centenary Celebration in Lincoln had over 50 people in attendance. Ron Hull, Master of Ceremonies, shared some of his favorite memories. State Senator Ben Hansen read the legislative proclamation and a statement from Governor Ricketts. Coralie Hughes and Robin Neihardt, grandchildren of Neihardt, presented a program reminding us who Neihardt was at 40 when he received the designation of State Poet Laureate. Trevor Jones of History Nebraska described the importance of Neihardts' work, Matt Mason, current Nebraska State Poet, explained the importance of poetry, and Mimi Yu, Nebraska Youth Poet, read two of her poems.

Ronda Ras receives Nebraska Career Guidance Award
The Association for Career and Technical Education of Nebraska revealed the recipients of their outstanding educator awards at todays Career Technical Education Virtual Conference.
Ronda Ras of Bancroft-Rosalie School received the Career Guidance of the Year Award.
ACTEN Member Awards recognize excellence and dedication within the field of career and technical education among its members. Recipients of these awards are exceptional individuals who have contributed to the success of Career Technical Education through the quality of their work and their involvement in the Career Technical Education community.
