School Board meeting summary

The Bancroft-Rosalie Board of Education met Monday, June 12, 2017 at 7:30 pm
in Bancroft. Superintendent Cerny presented the May transportation report, continuing with Valedictorian/Salutatorian for two more years, ACT test scores, MAP test scores, Northeast Community College Early Entry financial report, and the BRLD cooperative committee meeting.
In old business the board gave final approval to the school Wellness policy.


In new business, the board reviewed the Food Service Program and approved Diane Davies as school auditor. First approval was given to new board policies Employee Fund Raising and Procurement Plan- Food Service. The board also approved amendments to board policies on Homeless, Part and full time employment, Computer Internet Safety and Acceptable Use, Law Enforcement, ESSA, and Purchasing.

Nielsen Education Center in West Point Partnership

At Noon today, several area entities met to sign the Memorandum of Understanding in support of the new Education facility planned for West Point, NE.

Clarence Mock and Jeff Baldwin on behalf of the Don Nielsen Foundation, pledged $1,000,000 for naming rights to the new "Nielsen Education center".

The Stalp Foundation pledged $500,000 for the facility.

This Memorandum was the result of a lot of work on the part of several people who share the vision for Career and Technical Education in Northeast Nebraska.


The Conceptual Plan for the facility was developed by Northeast Community College.
