La Habana

Over Christmas break I traveled with Daughters Jessi and Beth to Cuba for five days. We had a great adventure but I was glad to be back in the greatest state in the greatest country in the world.
Enjoying Lobster Pizza at a Paladare, an unofficial restaurant in a private home.

The view from the balcony of our first Casa Particulares, a private homestay similar to a bed and breakfast

A lot of 1950's cars from Chevy, Dodge, Oldsmobile

The Hotel Hemingway stayed in Old Havana

The view from Puerta Gordo in the city of Cienfuegos. In the background are the mountains we traveled to the next day.

The view from the Casa in Cienfuegos. Notice the horsedrawn carts that taxied people around the city. Not many cars.

Home cooked Cuban breakfast. Eggs, fruit, mango juice, cucumber and cheese sandwich, and dessert.

El Nicho waterfall outside Cienfuegos

Our taxi from Cienfuegos to Havana. $20 per person for the 3 hour drive.

Inside our 4th Casa. This one in Havana. $10 per person. The room next door had 3 young women from America.

Me with John Lennon in Lennon Park, Vedado, Havana.

The government was setting up for the celebration of the Revolution that was held the next day. This is the Plaza de la Revolution.
